Memo 355: The Next Three Books On My Reading List

I’ve found that when I list out all of the books that I aim to read in one year, I usually only end up reading like one.

So, this time around, I thought that I would set quarterly goals with a smaller list to see if I could actually accomplish that. When it comes to goal setting, it’s really a game of trial and error to see what will actually werk.

Ok, so, here are the three books that I am aiming to finish before the end of March and a few books that I want to re-read or skim. First, I need to finish the last fifteen pages of Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, then I’ll jump right into the next one.

Also, Becoming by Michelle Obama didn’t make the list because I’m making myself read the books that I already own first! But like, of course, I need to read it.

Three Books To Read Before The End of March

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill: I’ve literally listed this book on every BooksThatImGoingToReadThisYear list since I got it probably six years ago. I’ve heard nothing but great things. I’m making myself read it because I like money and I want to develop a stronger relationship with it!

I’m Judging You by Luvvie Ajayi: I follow Luvvie on Instagram and Facebook. I like her commentary and I just want to support her. Plain and simple.

The Power of Broke by Daymond John: We all know that Daymond John has a crazy success story with FUBU. Also, someone that I look up to mentioned this book, so I bought it.

More importantly, I’ve been broke before and I’ve definitely learned some lessons. I want to see what conclusions Daymond came to during his broke Season and what I can learn from them without going broke again.

Three Books That I Want To Re-Read

Ok, I’m not putting any pressure whatsoever when it comes to these books because I’ve already read them. These are my personal classics that I’ll pick up when or if I need a break from the books on the must-read list. Also, they’re great for motivation and putting some fire under my ass.

The Alchemist by Paulo Ceolho: This book is the perfect for anyone looking for motivation or encouragement during a personal journey. If I could, I would literally gift this to anyone that I encounter. It’s that good. I aim to re-read it every six months just to get a renewed sense of motivation.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne: This is the book form of “what you think about you bring about”. I love that the book has summary pages at the end of each chapter. That way I can get to the major keys without having to actually re-read the entire book.

Influencer by Brittany Hennessy: I continue my education as an Influencer by listening to industry experts like Brittany Hennessy. There were several suggestions that I used from this book to improve my social media accounts and content. I want to re-read it as a refresher to make sure that I have implemented the key suggestions and haven’t forgotten any of the gems that were dropped.

I would love to hear which books made your must-read list this year (or quarter).

Hey !! Great post and amazing photos!
I definitely want to read the Alchemist. I just listen to a podcast with Brittney Hennessy on it. It’s a sign I need to read her book also.

I’ll start there this quarter. I always try and tackle reading . I’m right with you!

Yes! If you’re in the Influencer space, Brittany’s book definitely drops some gems and I love the entire tone of the book. It literally feels like you’re talking to her.

Oldies but goodies; you may like the tipping point or freakonomics, great books that will wow the way you think.

I definitely need new books to read. I really haven’t read anything since I binged the Crazy Rich Asians book. I’ve had Luvvie’s on my read list for a while.

How was Crazy Rich Asians? Like, do I NEED to read it before I see the movie or nah?
